Downsell Frugal Customers


You’re familiar with upselling, in which you try to convince someone to purchase a more expensive plan or add complementary products to their cart. But this approach can backfire if users are trying to be frugal. Try a “downsell”: For example, you could target customers who remove cart items with a discount, or offer those want to cancel their subscription a cheaper plan. This tactic can boost retention.
